  • It is also used in the production of riboflavin.
  • It is used in the manufacture of various syrups and confectionary items.
  • Various foods like milk and sugar products are spoiled by yeast.

There would be no raised bread industry without baker's yeast. ( I do not think you would really care for flat bread ) That industry is a basic economic driver of the economy.

They there is the beer industry using yeast. Another economic giant.
