What is the role of IAA oxidase?

IAA oxidase is an enzyme that regulates plant growth by breaking down the plant hormone auxin (indole-3-acetic acid). It helps control processes such as cell elongation, root growth, and fruit development. By degrading auxin, IAA oxidase plays a crucial role in maintaining hormonal balance within plants.

What is the difference between IBA and IAA?

IBA (Indole-3-butyric acid) and IAA (Indole-3-acetic acid) are both plant hormones known as auxins used in plant propagation. The main difference between the two is their chemical structure and concentrations needed for effectiveness. IBA is typically more stable and effective for root initiation, while IAA is a naturally occurring auxin found in plants.

What auxin is not stable in light?

auxins are not stable in light because it will degenerate the hormones.so,when light touches at one side of the coleoptile, auxins will move to the other side (less sunlight).this makes the shoot grow faster at the side which have more auxins and slower at the place where there are less auxins and this makes the shoot bend towards the light source =P

The first plant hormone to be discovered was a type of?

The first plant hormone to be discovered was auxin, specifically indole-3-acetic acid (IAA), in the 1920s by Dutch scientist Frits Warmolt Went. Auxin plays a key role in promoting cell growth and elongation, as well as various other physiological processes in plants.

What is the effect of soaking to the growth of plants?

Abstract- Effects of seed soaking with plant growth regulators (IAA, GA3, kinetin or prostart) on wheat (Triticum aestivum cv. Auqab-2000) emergence and seedling growth under normal (4 dS/cm) and saline (15 dS/cm) conditions were studied to determine their usefulness in increasing relative salt-tolerance. During emergence test, emergence percentage and mean emergence time (MET) were significantly affected by most of priming treatments, however, root and shoot length, fresh and dry weight of seedlings were significantly increased by 25 ppm kinetin followed by 1% prostart for 2 h treatments under both normal and saline conditions. All pre-sowing seed treatments decreased the electrolyte leakage of steep water as compared to that of non-primed seeds even after 12 h of soaking. Seed soaking with 25 ppm kinetin induced maximum decrease in electrolyte leakage while an increase in electrolyte leakage was observed by 25, 50 or 100 ppm IAA treatments. It is concluded that priming has reduced the severity of the effect of salinity but the amelioration was better due to 25 ppm kinetin and 1% prostart (2 h) treatments as these showed best results on seedling growth, fresh and dry weights under non-saline and saline conditions whereas seed soaking with IAA and GA3 were not effective in inducing salt tolerance under present experimental material and conditions

Give an example of auxins hormone?

Indole-3-acetic acid (IAA) is an example of an auxin hormone. It plays a crucial role in plant growth and development, including cell elongation, phototropism, and root initiation.

What is informational accounting?

Informational Accounting (IaA) is similar to Financial Accounting except that it applies to information instead of money. IaA uses accounting techniques - tables identifying sources, targets, balances, acquisitions, assets, allocations, savings - but not of money, only of information. For example, in IaA, it is possible to account whether there is sufficient information coming in and going out of an org. Very importantly, information can be checked to determine whether it is in or out of balance, and whether there is sufficient information for optimised operation, and also what informational investments exist that will support optimum operations and growth. Like double-entry bookkeeping shows where financials are out of balance, so the equivalent IaA approach shows where informationals are out of balance. Similarly, where a financial income statement addresses financials coming into the org, an IaA income statement addresses informationals coming in to the org. Informational Accounting is a new discipline and the number of practitioners is growing.
