There are two pigments in leaves that both have the same effect on leaves. They are Chlorophyll A and Chlorophyll B. They change the colour of leaves. When they are green the Chlorophyll is very strong and working well. When they turn brown, orange and yellow the Chlorophyll gets a bit weak which is what makes it change its colour.
