Autotrophic (meaning self-providing foods) organisms use photosynthesis as their way of getting energy. The first stage of photosynthesis is when light energy is trapped by the Chlorophyll. The Chlorophyll is located in the Chloroplast, an organelle that is used with photosynthesis. This stage is a light-dependent reaction then precedes into a light-independent reaction where stages are used to make Glucose molecules (energy) which are transferred to make ATP (adenosine triphosphate) which is the actual energy used in cell metabolism (energy requiring usage in the cell).
I don't think there is such a pigment. Do you mean chlorophyll, the green pigment which REFLECTS green light?
i think it is chlorophyll
Chlorophyll is the primary pigment that absorbs sunlight during photosynthesis. It is the pigment that is able to absorb the light energy and convert it into chemical energy by loosing electrons easily when struck by light.
Chloroplasts contain chlorophyll. Chlorophyll is a green pigment that absorbs light energy for photosynthesis. Chloroplast are not found in all plant cells.
chloroplast's is in a plant cell and absorbs sunlight to make energy
Chlorophyll is contained in the chloroplasts of the plant cell, and absorbs sunlight and coverts it to sugar. Plants need the sugar to grow and live. This process is called photosynthesis, and it's only found in plant cells.
Each leaves in the plant absorbs different amount of sunlight and nutrients.

The green pigment absorbs the sunlight as part of the photosynthesis process.
There are two types. Those are chlorophyll and caratinoids.

Chlorophyll is the main pigment in photosynthesis that absorbs sunlight. However, accessory pigments such as xanthophyll and the carotenoids are also present to absorb other wavelengths of light.
