its the movement of neurons in the body that helps ur digestive system
The myeline sheath acts as a kind of conductive blanket around nerves, helping nerve impulses or messages travel faster and more effectively.
Myelin sheath
Myelin sheaths insulate nerve fibers
That substance is called the myelin cell or myelin sheath.
The myelin sheath wraps around the around the axon of a neuron. The gaps of the myelin sheath are not insulated and are therefore capable of generating electrical activity.
The myelin sheath. Due to its insulating properties, the myelin sheath prevents the movement of ions in nerve cells. Therefore nervous impulses will jump between the gaps in the myelin sheath (called the Nodes of Ranvier). This is a lot quicker than the conduction in non-myelinated nerve fibres which occurs by the movement of ions across each of the nerve cell membranes.

An insulating layer that surrounds the axon is a myelin sheath.
The endoneurium surrounds and protects the myelin sheath.
Myelin sheath
A myelin sheath is a layer of myelin (a dielectric, or electric insulator) around the axon of a neuron.
Oligodendrocytes are specialized neurolgical cells that produce myelin sheath.

Schwann cells make the myelin sheath in the PNS. Each of the Schwann cells myelinate their own segment of the axon, they work together to make the myelin sheath.
