The legs contain four bones each, if the feet and ankles are not included:

  • The femur: thigh bone, also the longest and strongest in the body.
  • The patella: kneecap.
  • The fibula: the shorter of two bones in the lower leg, to the outside and behind the tibia.
  • The tibia: the longer bone in the lower leg, connected to both ankle and knee (the fibula is only in the ankle, and connected to the back of this).
