∙ 11y agoThe number of mitochondria indicates the energy need of a particular cell; meaning, if a cell has a large number of mitonchoria, that cell (for example a muscle cell) must have a high demand for energy.

∙ 11y agoMuscle cells, particularly skeletal and cardiac muscle cells, have very large numbers of mitochondria. This is because they are very active cells that require a great deal of ATP to perform their function.
Wiki User
∙ 12y agoThe conclusion is that these Cells have a larger, indeed a stronger, need for extra Metabolic Energy that is derived from Atp; and this Atp is biochemically derived and produced [manufactured] within the cytoplasmic Mitochondrions.

Muscle cells have the largest number of mitochondria.
Nearly all eukaryotic cells, including plants, contain Mitoochondria.
If a cell is very active, it would need to have a large number of Mitochondria.
RPCProkariyotic cells do not have any. Some eukariyotic cells like mammalian RBC lack mitochondria
A high number of mitochondria. These are the organelles used in the process of aerobic respiration.
would you expect skin cells to contain more or fewer mitochondria than muscle cell?
A large number of mitochondria power the flagella of sperm cells.

Mitochondria
Muscle cells have the largest number of mitochondria.
Chloroplasts in plant cells and mitochondria in animal cells contain their own mitochondria
Yes, they very much do.....all cells contain mitochondria!! Love always: KSKG112 <3
Every living thing has Mitochondria.-Chloe Salom Many eukaryotic cells contain mitochondria. Prokaryotic cells do not.
No. Other cells such as plant cells contain mitochondria. However, prokaryotic cells such as bacteria do not contain mitochondria and respiration instead occurs on infolds in the plasma membrane called mesosomes.
Cells that require the most energy contain the most energy generating mitochondria. The cells of the brain, the skeletal muscle and heart muscle, and the eye contain the highest number of mitochondria (as many as 10,000 per cell) while the skin cells, which do not require much energy, contain only a few hundred of them.
They are in eukaryotic cells. Prokariyotes do not have
