Almost all bio-chemical reactions taking place in the cells of the living organism are catalyzed by enzymes.

For Example: The conversion of Glucose to Glucose-6-Phosphate (1st Reaction of Glycolysis) is catalyzed by the enzyme hexokinase or glucokinase.

Glucose + ATP ---> Glucose-6-Phosphate + ADP

How is fission inside a powerplant controlled?

The fission is controlled by inserting rods made of a material that absorbs the neutrons. This keeps the reaction from continuing, or slows the chain reaction.

What do enzymes do in the cell?

The enzymes in the cell act as catalysts for chemical reactions. They lower the activation energy of these reactions in order to speed up the reaction rate.

Why is the active site on a cell important?

Active sites are located in enzymes inside the cells. this is where the substrate binds itself to the enzyme and the reaction takes place.

What protein catalyst increases the rate of reaction?

Enzymes are the globular proteins which are responsible for altering the rate of reactions inside all organisms - i.e. they are biological catalysts.

Where enzymes are produced?

inside the cells of an organizism

Where do enzymes go after digestion are they excreted out of the body or reused if yes then please explain and I am talking about both extracellular as well as those which work inside cell.?

Enzymes are NOT used during the reaction. They just facilitate the reaction and help them go faster. It is true that there is turnover of the enzyme, as all enzymes are themselves, proteins. So there is continuous protein degradation and protein synthesis going on. But the enzymes themselves are NOT excreted from the body. Some of the protein degradation products may be excreted in the urine.

Where are enzymes produced inside or outside the cells of an organism?

Certainly in animal cells, they have a 'sack' called a lysosome which is filled with enzymes that help to break down anything entering the cell via phagocytosis (the process where the cell 'eats' things).
