For a week now, I have been feeling a burning sensation to my thumb and index finger tip. Could this have any relation to any ailment or disorder? I'm just curious, as finger tips are nerve endings which are connected to different organs in our body. Please, I need an answer.
Thanks in advance.
No, typically the pulse and heartbeat are more commonly felt in areas closer to the heart, such as the wrist or neck. If you are feeling a pulse in your thumb, it may be due to pressure or other factors affecting blood flow.
Thumb sucking can cause the front teeth to become misaligned or protrude, leading to an overbite. Additionally, it can put pressure on the roof of the mouth and affect the position of the upper and lower jawbones. Continuous thumb sucking can also disrupt the natural growth and development of the bones in the mouth and face.
The first digit of the hand is called the thumb.
The nerves in your thumb are located in the soft tissue and bone structure of your thumb. They run through the muscles, tendons, and ligaments in your thumb, allowing you to feel sensations and control movement in your thumb.

Loss of feeling in the tip of the right thumb could be caused by nerve compression, such as carpal tunnel syndrome, a pinched nerve in the hand or wrist, or even a mild injury. It is essential to consult a healthcare professional to determine the exact cause and receive appropriate treatment.

No.. the index finger does not have a pulse... for this reason, when feeling for a person's pulse, you use your middle finger and your index finger (you never use your thumb as it has a pulse)
It may result from damage to the nerves supplying the thumb or from damage to or occlusion of the blood supply somewhere higher up the arm. Severe damage to the thumb itself may also cause considerable loss of sensitivity. Theoretically, at least, it might also be caused by damage to the opposite side of the brain, but in such cases, the numbness will probably affect a wide range of regions of the arm and shoulder. In a dumb bum, too much rum could also cause a numb thumb--among other things!:-)
Having different alleles would cause this.

A warm burning sensation in the right arm accompanied by a pins-and-needles feeling in the thumb could indicate nerve compression or irritation, potentially from conditions like carpal tunnel syndrome, thoracic outlet syndrome, or cervical radiculopathy. It may also suggest issues related to circulation or even a cardiovascular concern, especially if accompanied by other symptoms. If these sensations persist or worsen, it's important to seek medical attention for a proper evaluation and diagnosis.
