ATP is the molecule that gives a cell energy to perform its many functions such as cellular respiration and photosynthesis in the case of plant cells. ATP stands for Adenozinetriphosphate. It contains adenine and three phosphates. ATP is made though a process known as phosphorylation in which an ADP (adenozinediphosphate) is combined with a phosphate. This takes and stores energy, and can occur with the help of light (photophosphorylation), potential energy (chemiosmosis), and other forms. When ATP is split, all of the energy that was contained there due to phosphorylation is released, giving the cell the energy it needs for cellular growth and development and repair.

What is a complex molecule in the cell's chromosomes that carries genetic information?

DNA (deoxyribonucleic acid) is a complex molecule found in the cell's chromosomes that carries genetic information. DNA is composed of a double helix structure that contains the instructions for the development, functioning, growth, and reproduction of all living organisms.

Do plants have DNA and how does it contribute to their growth and development?

Yes, plants have DNA, which is a molecule that carries genetic information. DNA controls the growth and development of plants by providing instructions for processes such as cell division, photosynthesis, and the production of proteins essential for growth.

What carries all information for a cell?

The nucleus of a cell carries all the genetic information necessary for the cell to function. This information is stored in the form of DNA molecules, which contain the instructions for making proteins and governing all cellular processes.

What is the molecule that contains the information a cell need to make proteins?

The molecule that contains the information a cell needs to make proteins is called messenger RNA (mRNA). It carries the genetic instructions from the DNA in the cell's nucleus to the ribosomes where protein synthesis occurs.

What molecule contains the hereditary information for a cell?

The molecule that contains the hereditary information for a cell is DNA (deoxyribonucleic acid). DNA carries the genetic instructions that are essential for the growth, development, functioning, and reproduction of all living organisms.

Which molecule provides instructions for growth?

The molecule that provides instructions for growth is deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA). DNA contains the genetic information that codes for proteins, which are essential for cell growth and development. Genes within the DNA sequence provide the instructions for the synthesis of specific proteins that regulate processes like cell division and growth.
