The molecule that contains genes is called DNA or Deoxyribonucleic Acid. This very very long chain molecule is a polymer of structures called Nucleotides which are made up of three parts. All nucleotides have the same pentose sugar called reibose as the central unit. From this sugar projects a phosphate group on one side, this too is the same in every nucleotide. The final part of the mucleotide is the "Base". This can be one of 4 molecules Adenine, Thymine, Guanine, Cytosine. The Phosphate of one nucleotide bonds to one of the carbons of the next nucleotides ribose. The phosphate of this next nucleotide then bonds to yet another nucleotides ribose and so on until there is a long chain. From the chain projects different cominations of the bases and the pattern is what maked up genes. As all the bonds are covalant it is one molecule and is called DNA.

The molecule that contains many genes is called DNA. DNA is a long, double-stranded molecule found in the nucleus of cells that carries the genetic information necessary for the development, functioning, and reproduction of all living organisms. Each gene on the DNA molecule provides instructions for making a specific protein or RNA molecule.

How many genes can be stored on a DNA molecule?

A DNA molecule can store thousands of genes. The human genome contains approximately 20,000-25,000 genes, which are stored on 23 pairs of chromosomes. Each gene provides instructions for making a specific protein in the body's cells.

A DNA molecule contains thousands of what?

A DNA molecule contains thousands of genes, which are made up of sequences of nucleotides. Each gene provides the instructions for making specific proteins in an organism.

How many molecules of eukaryotic DNA make up a chromosome in humans?

A chromosome in humans is made up of one long DNA molecule. This DNA molecule is double-stranded and contains thousands of genes.

Do prokaryotes have genes?

Yes, prokaryotes have genes. Genes are segments of DNA that contain the instructions for making a protein or RNA molecule. Prokaryotes have a circular chromosome that contains genes, along with additional genetic material in plasmids.

Are chromosomes a DNA molecule with many genes?

Yes, because chromosomes are full of genes and DNA

How many genes are there in a human cells?

The human genome contains about 24,000 genes.

DNA is a type of what that contains the genetic instructions of an organisms development and functioning?

DNA is a type of molecule that contains genetic information in the form of genes. These genes provide instructions for an organism's development, growth, and functioning.

When genes are copied in transcription the resulting copy is in the form of a?

When genes are copied in transcription, the resulting copy is in the form of a single-stranded RNA molecule. This RNA molecule contains a sequence of nucleotides that is complementary to the DNA template from which it was transcribed.

For what molecule do genes contain the instruction for building?

The DNA molecule contains the genes for the construction of protein molecules.Genes contain instructions for building proteins.

Is a gene a complete chromosome?

No, a gene is a specific region of DNA that contains the instructions for making a particular protein or RNA molecule. A chromosome is a long strand of DNA that can contain many genes as well as other genetic material. Each chromosome may contain hundreds or thousands of genes.

Does each chromosome have a very long DNA molecule with hundreds of thousands of genes?

Yes, each chromosome contains a single, long DNA molecule that can house tens of thousands of genes. Genes are segments of DNA that contain the instructions for making specific proteins, which then determine an organism's traits and functions. In humans, each cell typically contains 23 pairs of chromosomes, for a total of 46 chromosomes.
