All of the molecules are part of the whole; they work as a team in tissues and organs, and the body needs them all to function properly. One can make arguments for just about all types of molecules, but it all begins with DNA, dioxyribonucleic acid molecules, aka genes, in the fertilized cell to begin the formation of the human embryo and to direct differentiation of cells, cell enzyme formation, and everything that follows, so if I had to name one type of molecule as the most important, it would be DNA.

The person asking this question wasn't clear whether they wanted one most important molecule, or a list of some of the most important molecules; so I will list a few important ones, which are only a few examples of many more important molecules.

DNA

RNA

Protein

Lipids

Carbohydrates

Salts

Water

If I had to choose only one, I would choose water, not because there aren't many others that are essential, but water is the most common molecule in the human body.
