The mandible is found in the jaw and is part of the skull so can be classed as a flat bone but has also been described as irregular due to the shape. The clavicle is a flat bone and supports the shoulder but again other sources have described it as a short bone. Conflicting evidence for each sorry.

The bones that articulate with the clavicle are the scapula (shoulder blade) and the sternum (breast bone).
