Common store bought varieties such as Eureka or Lisbon would grow from seed practically anywhere! I live in Montreal, and Winters are EXTREMELY cold, I went to a restaurant last summer which had 2 semi-full grown lemon and lime trees with FRUIT!!! Obviously the plants are stored indoors for the winter, but the lemon trees still grew. Therefore, you can grow any lemon tree anywhere.
