If a plant doesn't have roots, which is impossible, the plant would die either by not having anything to send water to it to stay alive, or get blown away.
The plant would either die from not getting water from the roots or blow away.
Typically this would stunt the growth of the plant. Plants grown many roots and small offshoots from them to maximize their surface area for nutrient absorbance. If the plants roots are confined they can only grow so many or so big and this limits their potential to absorb enough nutrients. This can be observed in bonsai plants where roots are trimmed and growth is restricted.
roots access water, minerals etc and provide support. In theory a root or section of a root can be removed, as is done for propagating from root cuttings. The plant just grows a replacement. You can remove the whole root structure of some plants eg Salix and they will grow a whole new set, but you would need to put the trunk firmly into the ground for this to happen
It is impossible that a plant does not have roots. A plant without roots is like a man without a mouth to eat and drink. Similarly, roots can be considered as the mouth of a plant through which it absorps all the water and minerals it needs to live, grow and be healthy and without which it would surely die.
it would die it would die how many times do i have to tell you all
we wouldget infected from the nasty thingsin the water and we will die or you will get sick
THe food wont go to the plants

Death.
they would eventually die
if we didnt have lactase we would all be dead
The roots will die out and it will become dead.
god would kill everyone and pigs would eat your pickles....
Roots are essential for absorption of water and holding the plant deep in the soil. If the roots are missing the plant willl not grow properly in its early stage thereby affecting the growth.
hello
what would happen to plants nutrition if plants did not have roots
The plant's roots would probably get more water and sunlight than longer roots do because it is higher to the surface of the soil so the two sources for survival reaches the roots faster.

I don't really know, THATS WHY I AM ASKING YOU!
The organ that holds a plant in place would be the roots. The roots also collect nutrients and water for the plant.
