It can no longer grow in length.
Bones grow in length by endochondral ossification. It begins with cartilage that acts like a model of the bone that will grow. The bone grows in length and diameter(appositional). the structure that allows this is the epiphyseal cartilage that seperates the epiphysis from the diaphysis. When the bone is fully grown this cartilage will become bone and simply the epiphyseal line.
You have a primary cartilaginous joint between epiphysis and diaphysis. There is a plate of cartilage between the two. That make it possible for the bone to grow in length. This plate of cartilage is replaced by the bone tissue as the growth ceases.
if you have a bone spur on the hip removed can it grow back
as you grow older you grow taller & your bones begin to grow as well. hah. im not sure thoee! hah. as you grow older you grow taller & your bones begin to grow as well. hah. im not sure thoee! hah.

The bones in a human body are growing in diameter through the process of appositional growth. While, bones are growing longer in length in the epiphyseal plate where cartilage is formed and ossified.

The cartilage cells at the epiphyseal side are continuing to grow and divide mitotiacally and the diaphyseal side are aging and dying and the osteoblast move in to form bone. So they are growing on the ends side and in the middle side of the Epiphyseal line they are dying and form bone.
There has been some speculation about that. In general, the common wisdom says that you can't do anything to change your height or the length of any long bone, that it's all already programmed when you're born. But the reality is, we're all growing until the "growth disc" closes. The growth disc is the area of our bones, near the ends, where "long" bones actually grow longer. Once the growth disc "closes" or ceases to function, you have reached your maximum height. Growth discs close usually a little after we start puberty.
epiphiseal plates of the bones closes once a man reaches the age of 20 and above. Once this plate closes calcium deposits will not enter the bone, thus it will stop to mature and grow.
it makes your bone grow good and strong!

anterior pituatary called adenohypophysis, secreates the following harmones;growth harmone,TSH,FSH,LH,prolactin,ACTH.among them growth harmone is very dominant.GROWTH HARMONE;acts on bones, cartilage, organs, gland etc through somatomedins.ACTION ON BONES;bone has two cartilages.epiphysis,diaphysis.ends of bone are called epiphysis. this growth harmone acts on epiphysis and this causes linear length of bone.linear length is produced before calcification of bone by action of growth harmone.if action of growth harmone takes place after calcification it causes transverse growth instead of linear growth.growth of bone occurs transversly.DISORDERS;hyper secreation;causes 2 cases.gigantism;in this excess production of harmone and resulting in action on epiphysis of bone before calcification.this causes abnormal increase in linear growth of bones in hands and legs.acromegaly;in this condition the excess production of harmone acts on epiphysis after calcification.this causes extremities to grow.as a result the protruded lower jaw, enlarged ear pinna and prolonged nose will be observed.you could try growth hormones but good luck getting some of that stuff. If you are looking for a disease, there is one called acromegaly that makes the pituitary gland produce excessive amounts of growth hormone and that causes bones to grow abnormally large in adults. When it occurs in children it is called giganticism.

Fractures grow when the body's natural defenses to affected areas(in this case, the broken bone) allow certain substances (such as calcium to mend bone) to heal the fracture.
