The majority of the bone you see is actually extracellular matrix but dispersed within it are cells called osteoblasts. These are usually either individual cells or in very small groups but they are not in any specific locations within the bone.

you would find an osteocyte in bone. Osteocytes help protect and support our bodies and bone is highly vascular( which means it contains blood vessels) Osteocytes also help store calcium.
