Gene banks are storing the biological and genetic material of animals that are under threat of extinction, which helps to preserve endangered species.

There are currently 2655 endangered plant species on earth, this does not however, take into account species that have not yet been classified and may be under threat without us even knowing of their existence! They are classified according to how endangered they are from "vulnerable" to "critically endangered" (or even "extinct in the wild". At the apex of the endangered list are species which appear on the IUNC Red List (sometimes called the Red Data list). As with plants and animals there are also several regulatory protocols and programs in places such as CITES which regulates the trade and transportation of endangered or protected species. See the related links below for lists of endangered species as well as the RED List
A seed bank is a project designed to store seeds. Seeds from many plant species are collected and stored in careful conditions in case the species goes extinct or suffers a disease. The largest is the Kew Millennium Seed Bank, which is in over 50 countries.
Genes are cells that decompose in a plant cell.
Endangered species, extinct species, vunerable, and threatened species.
According to the Encyclopedia of Earth, over 8000 plant species worldwide are officially threatened or endangered (obviously too many to name here!).
There are a massive amount of endangered plant species out there. Use the link listed below for the USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service, to help you find a complete list of the most endangered plant species in North America.

Some endangered plants in Malaysia are the pitcher plant, dipterocarp trees, and the species of moss known as Taxitheliella richardsii. These are on the IUCN's Red List as critically endangered species of plants.

Well I've heard of transferring pollen from one plant to the other.

the definition of endangered species is species who are close to extinction, or dying out; in the risk of extinction this is my personal definitionWhen an animals numbers become too low to sustain a viable population, it becomes an endangered species.
* Violation of natural species intrinsic values * Tampering with nature by mixing genes among species * Objections to consuming animal genes in plants and vice versa * Stress for plant
