Which prokaryotic group is most closely related to eukaryotes?

i believe the answer is Cyanobacteria, because they are photosynthetic, contain chlorophyll as eukaryotic plantae do. Also most algae is eukaryotic with the exception of Cyanobacteria which is a prokaryote. Also it is theorized that plant cells used endosymbiosis to engulf cyanobacteria as a means of producing energy via photosynthesis. ( Cyanobacteria have their own DNA)

Archaea are no longer considered prokaryotes, though they are more closely related to us than prokaryotes.

Eukaryotes would have been most closely related to the common bacterial ancestor. We've all evolved so much that its really impossible to say which is most closely related to us.

The above is quite wrong as archaebacteria are still prokaryote, though listed sometimes as a subkingdom.

It has been shown that eukaryotes are more closely related to archaebacteria than normal bacterias. Eukaryotes and archaebacterias both contain introns, although not as many are present in the archaebacteria. Also, it has been shown that while antibiotic can inhibit growth on eubacterias, archaebacterias and eukaryotes are not affected.
