Robert Peel was an influential British politician known for creating the modern concept of a police force while serving as Home Secretary. He established the Metropolitan Police in 1829, earning him the nickname "the father of modern policing." Peel also served as the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom twice, from 1834-1835 and 1841-1846.
Hugo Von Mohl contributed to the cell theory by identifying and describing the presence of cell protoplasm in plant cells, emphasizing its importance as the living substance within cells. He also recognized the importance of the cell wall as a defining feature of plant cells.
Chromosomes were first observed in plant cells by Swiss botanist Karl Wilhelm von N?geli in 1842, and independently in Ascaris worms by Belgian scientist Edouard Van Beneden (1846-1910). The use of basophilic aniline dyes was a fundamentally new technique for effectively staining the chromatin material in the nucleus. Their behavior in animal (salamander) cells was later described in detail by German anatomist Walther Flemming, the discoverer of mitosis, in 1882. The name was invented later by another German anatomist, Heinrich von Waldeyer

One of the states formed from the Oregon Country is Oregon itself. Oregon was established as a state in 1859 as part of the Compromise of 1850, splitting from the larger Oregon Territory. The territory was initially jointly occupied by the United States and Britain until a boundary was established at the 49th parallel in the Oregon Treaty of 1846, paving the way for Oregon's statehood.

In 1818, Oregon was jointly owned by both Great Britain and the United States. President Polk wanted the border line decided. Since the fur trade was less lucrative and there were more American settlers, the British gave in to most of Polk's demands and the boundary was settled. So the US president and senate told Britain that the US wanted sole occupancy on April 23, 1846. The British mostly agreed but the actual treaty was signed June 18, 1846.
in 1846, Britain agreed for the US to take control of this territory.
