This is an excerpt from a posting made by a user named Avonon a site called Concert Vault: I've never seen any evidence anywhere that Juke Joint Jimmy ever actually existed. A Top500 reviewer on Amazon.com wrote in 2003 that "Juke Joint Jimmy [is] a name made up by Peter Wolf for when the entire band had worked together on a song ..." - and it figures. Peter Wolf was born Blankenfeld in the Bronx, John Geils grew up in an upscale New Jersey suburb, and basically this bunch of talented Jewish kids had invented (or adopted) the entire blues culture of their band wholesale. The tragedy is that they could cheerfully credit their group work to a fictional guy that way.
