I have a hairline fractire in my ankle but I only have a walking boot and crutches so i think they need casts unless they are really bad.

It depends on the brand of casting tape and what colors the hospital or doctor's office wants to stock. Orange, lime green, purple, black, blue, white, glow in the dark (looks white in light), bright yellow, pink, light blue, red. Also some companies make cast tape in various patterns and prints such as camouflage, various sport's and kid's related themes.

Some may be (especially if they are in cabinets behind glass) but most of the time plaster casts are taken of the actual bones and these are then used to make articulated skeletons (you would not want to drill holes in or damage the real fossil bones because one day they may be needed for further study).
