Color blindness, a color vision deficiency, is the inability to perceive differences between some of the colors that others can distinguish. It is most often of genetic nature, but may also occur because of eye, nerve, or brain damage, or due to exposure to certain chemicals. The English chemist John Dalton published the first scientific paper on the subject in 1798, "Extraordinary facts relating to the vision of colours". After the realization of his own color blindness; because of Dalton's work, the condition is sometimes called daltonism, although this term is now used for a type of color blindness called deuteranopia. Now to the point: Many people do not know what color blindness is? Most color-blind people can see colors, but can't distinguish from each other (shades of red and green). Aircrafts have green, red and white position lights that help other pilots tell at a glance the direction another aircraft is flying...often not apparent at night. Airport lights has various colors that pilots must be able to distinguish clearky and mainly Red, Green, Blue, and Amber. If somebody having blue color seeing-disability , for example, might mistake in getting Taxiway for Airstrip. Esp. in low visibility. Obstruction lights on buildings, Sky-scrappers, Power Grids and hill-peaks are indicated with Red. If a pilot fails to perceive red, those lights might blend into other lights close by, and the danger at low altitude would not be perceived. And might create Mayhem.
