Based on other people's answers on other sites, the best answer I got was because the generated light source needs to ba able to shine through the specimen. This allows for better observations and to see individual cells.

What is the object called that you look at under a microscope?

The object that you look at under a microscope is called a specimen. It is placed on a glass slide and then magnified and viewed through the microscope lens.

Why do you cut a very thin slice of specimen to look under light microscope?

Cutting a thin slice of the specimen allows light to easily pass through the sample and provides a clearer image under the light microscope. A thin slice also ensures that the entire specimen can be viewed at once, without the need to focus on different depths. This method helps in obtaining detailed and high-quality images of the sample.

What do you call the thing you look at under a microscope?

The specimen or sample being examined under a microscope is typically referred to as the "specimen." This can be anything from cells, tissues, or other material being studied or observed under the microscope.

Is what you look at under a microscope called a specimen?

Yes - but a specimen can be something that is not observed under a microscope as well. For example, if you ever went on a walk in the country, picked a wildflower that grew there, and brought it home, you would have a specimen of a native plant that grew in the area where you found it.

When viewing a specimen under the microscope you should always start with what?

When viewing a specimen under the microscope, you should always start with the lowest magnification objective lens. This allows you to locate and focus on the specimen before moving to higher magnifications for a closer look.

What are the parts of microscope and their meaning?

The main parts of a microscope are the eyepiece, objective lens, stage, focus knobs, and light source. The eyepiece is where you look through to see the specimen, the objective lens magnifies the specimen, the stage holds the specimen in place, the focus knobs adjust the focus of the specimen, and the light source illuminates the specimen for better visibility.

Where are the ocular lenses on a microscope?
