In the dark, you're pupils (black dot in middle of eye) are big, because they are trying to bring in more light. When you turn on the light, your pupils automatically go small/tiny because enough light is in your eye. Your eyes might get a quick pain!

∙ 10y agoToo much light hurts your eyes as a result of the rapid adaptation of the eye through the cones and rods. An eye exposed to light of comparatively high intensity undergoes adjustments of photochemical change and the swift constriction of the pupil, which makes the eye muscles to incur some strain. Sometimes I wake up to a horrible pain in my left eye. It almost feels as if it is bulging out of the socket. Unfortunately it is so uncomfortable that I can't relax and and really know what is happening. I have to put my fingers on my eye and try to make it stop hurting, it only lasts about 30 seconds. Afterwards my eye waters and sometimes feels scratched. I have been to the doctor and they suggested ordinary eye drops before bed.
Re:
I recently had an eye exam and the Dr. said my eye pressure was very high (26) in each eye. Last year my eye pressure was 15 in one eye and 16 in the other. I am going back in one month for further test, but the Dr. thinks it is glaucoma. What is normal eye pressure, and can some one tell me where to find a chart on eye pressures I can print from the web? Also my eyeballs feel hard when I touch them. I can't see anything by looking in the mirror, but they feel buldged...
RE:
I notice that we all have pain in our left eye. Is there a reason for this? I have been woken up from a sound sleep for the past 2 weeks with stabbing pain in my LEFT eye also noticed I am sensitive to light. During the day my eye feels off somewhat of a dull sharp constant pain. My vision has also changed in my eye, I have to make an eye appointment but after reading some of your posts I am not sure I am going to get an answer to my problem. Has anybody gotten a correct diagnosis, for now when it happens I put a warm cloth on my eye it seems to help.

∙ 9y agoYour eyes can hurt for a number of reasons. Some people have pain due to not wearing glasses, or even wearing the wrong prescription. Also, things like dirt or an eyelash can get in them and cause pain.
Wiki User
∙ 11y agoThat normally happens if you open your eyes drastically to a bright light, if you have had less sleep and perhaps for women if you slept with heavy eye make up on.

∙ 12y agoThis happens because your contacts are dried out and not moist. It also means your eye is dried out because of the contact blocking the front of it.

Well no you shouldn't put contact lenses solutions in your eye while wearing contact lenses , that can harm your eye in long run, so pls avoid it .
To sleep.
If you have a written copy of your prescription, OD is for right eye, OS is for left eye. If you don't have the information, contact your eyecare provider to find out.
convex way facing eye
Rapid eye movement is common during sleep but when it happens when a person is awake, it is considered to be abnormal and is called nystagmus. It is often caused by the abnormal function in part of the brain or the inner ear.
yes it can ...they scratch the inside of your eye lids
If your talking about the contact cleaner that is to be used overnight then no. I put contact cleaner instead of saline solution in my eye and now i have to wear glasses for a week because my eye is bloodshot red and and highly irritated
No, a person should never sleep with contact lenses in their eyes. It can cause infections and other serious problems.
sometimes people avoid eye contact if they are mad at someone, if they don't like someone, or if they are scared of someone. P.S. Or maybe they are just stupid and crazy
lol. Silly goose! um My opinion is that its not too much eye contact never hurt anyone. So enjoy it while its there. Good luck babe! (:Bonnie:)
It's doesn't good to sleep with light on because it will hurt your eye and for some reason, maybe you can't even sleep with lights on
It depends how you hurt your eye , if you have just scratched it then don't worry it will be better in a few days , you may find it hard to sleep or open your eye but this is natural.
It can be. It really depends on what kind of eye contact is being made. If its deep, loving, understanding eye contact then yes. But if thers shallow, little, or no eye contact then it could be just flirting or it could be an impulse if she feels bad for him or if he's hurt. Hope I helped :)
yes in a boxing injury
You probably rubbed your eye and bacteria got inside, multiplied and irritated your eye. Just go to your family doctor and he will give you drops to put in your eyes. I have that right now lol
Eye contact can suggest intimacy or hostility.
NO their eye will dry out!
