Health workers need to use accepted terminology for several reasons:
1. Nurses, doctors, and pharmacists went to different schools, and need to be able to effectively communicate with each other without ambiguity and confusion
2. Imprecise terminology can lead to confusion or incorrect assumptions. Many specialists and members of the health care team will process the paperwork of a single patient during a single hospital stay. It is imperative that they all understand what the true situation is.
3. Some terms are simply not acceptable anymore. For example, it is not correct to refer to someone as "mentally retarded" anymore. It is not acceptable to refer to homosexuality as a "disease" anymore. This has important implications for patient perceptions and treatment options.

As industrial sickness is an umbrella term applied to various things associated with industry that make people ill and cause them to miss work. The solutions will have to be tailored to the specific industry, and only in that way can any real effect be made on improving the health and productivity of the industrial workforce. The key is an aggresive work-up on the health issues for a given segment of the industrial workforce, and usually broken down by type of work (which makes sense). Even as coal miners face overpowering respiratory threats, and foundry and mill workers have to confront major physical threats from large (heavy) quantities of extremely hot materials, each facet of industrial production has its hot-button health issues. The industrial health managers need training and experience identifying and remediating conditions that present major health threats to their respective workforces. Then they can train the rest of management and can teach the workers themselves about the best way to carry out their jobs with minimum threats to their health

Workers are required to work in units that are cramped, damp and poorly ventilated resulting in respiratory problems. b. The handling of dead worms with bare hands also leads to illness and infection. c. While the cocoons are put in hot water to loosen fibres, workers tend to put their bare hands inside to see if the the fibres are loosened. This results blisters and injuries leading to secondary infection. d. Standing for almost 12-16 hours a day focusing on their work leads to severe backaches, spine problems and problems related to vision. e. Continuous exposure to noise made by spinning and winding machines result in hearing problems. f. Though there have been several studies conducted on the health aspects of sericulture, nothing has really been done to help the working in this environment. There is an urgent need for health professionals to come together and work out possible solutions in this regard.
