Neurons stop dividing shortly after birth. The reason is that a neuron's function depends on its state and the unique connections that it has formed with other neighboring neurons. All the neurons in your brain and their connections make up the neural network that defines who you are, your experiences, memories, skills etc. If neurons were to multiply, it would introduce arbitrary nodes and connections into that neural network, interfering with the way it has been trained to operate.
They are arranged in a specific way to facilitate thought and memory. If they divided (replicated) without others dying, then the brain would grow too large. However, if the new ones replace the old ones, memory would be lost. New research (published in scietific america--im not sure on the issue) has shown that some new neurons are arising which live or die depending on the use-it-or-lose-it premise.
Because of their structure and connectivity, nerve cells do not undergo cell division. Instead, replacement neurons are sometimes formed from stem cells. After reaching adulthood, humans do not normally replace cells in most areas of the brain.
because the brain cell's stored the knowledge that you have gained in your life ,
That mean if they divide you will lose your knowledge
sorry I am not good in English
Brain cells do divide. Thats how you gain knowledge
because if brain cell undergo mitosis the size of brain enlarges
Nerve cell or neuron
Neuron is another name for a nerve cell.
The cell body is the main part of the neuron. It maintains the health of the neuron.
True. The basic nerve cell is also referred to as a neuron.
Fibres which carry impulses towards the cell body of a neuron are called dendrites. The axon is the fibre which carries impulses away from the cell body of a neuron.
