The bald eagle was put on the Endangered Species List in 1967. They were endangered as a result of DDT pollution, as well as many years of hunting. DDT was banned in 1972, and the bald eagle was removed from the endangered species list in 1995. At that time, I was only one year old, so I never did anything to specifically help the bald eagle.

because bald eagles are brave and fearless and so is america
There are several causes. The loss of habitat is one. As more people cut forest area and build on the lands there is less habitat for them. Pollution is another. Scientist have found DDT in the eagle food chain (this is one reason DDT is now illegal to use) and this has caused deformed eggs or no eggs. The Bald Eagle only has 2-3 eggs a year. A combination of factors has made their population go steadily down for several years.
In 1782, our nation's leaders chose the bald eagle as our national emblem.
no that's a no brainer adult eagles are bigger than humans and a baby is so small
The penalty for killing a bald eagle is a fine of up to 100,000 and/or imprisonment for up to one year for a first offense, and steeper penalties for subsequent offenses.
The African fish eagle, white tailed fish eagle, and Stellar's sea eagle are relatives. Young bald eagles resemble golden eagles, with their dark head and tails, which do not become white til their second year.
