When baby animals are just born or just hatched, most have little fear of people. But they bond right away with the parent bird or animal and learn to avoid humans. In captivity, penguins are used to being handled for medical care and are fairly social - the babies too.

But penguins aren't "cuddly". They are cute, yes. But they are birds not puppies. They look like you could pick them up and kiss and love on them, but they wouldn't react the way you would want them to. They would bite you and try to get away.
