Pet shop, directly from someone who raises them, feed stores.
Ducks are easy prey. Raccoons killing pet ducks is a very common problem. Other predators include the fox, coyotes, bobcats, pet dogs, owls or anything that likes meat. You should always lock your ducks up at night.
You can buy pet ducks from local breeders, farms, or pet stores in Maine. Additionally, you can check online marketplaces or animal shelters for ducks that need a new home. Make sure to research local regulations regarding owning ducks and ensure you provide a suitable environment for your new pet.
It's not as messy as a dog, and does more than a fish.
If the fish are tiny yes they will eat them. They can eat a fish as big as a feeder goldfish!
well the world may never know
there are lots of them in the food store in cobourg next to the pet hositpal
Incredibly messy. We just raised a Mallard duckling from a couple days old to 3 weeks. In that time it tripled in size. They eat a ton of food (non-medicated chick starter), and literally defecate about every 2 minutes. Very social, cute and intelligent....but they are messy.
If your pet duck came from a farm, chances are he is a domestic. If he came from the wild, he is a wild duck.
It is not unheard of, however roosters are very messy and do not potty train well.
While ducks can be kept as pets, they are not as common as dogs or cats. Ducks require a lot of space, proper nutrition, and access to water to thrive, so they may not be suitable for everyone. However, some people find ducks to be charming and entertaining pets.
