No...at least not with each other. These two species are not only from different genera, but also different families.

All mockingbirds do for people is make noises for people to enjoy. They dont nest in houses, ruin crops, or such. I am guessing that the blue jay has some negative effect, no matter how small it may be. Please remember that this is really just a widely known opinion.

The Steller's Jay is blue with a black head and crest and lives in some areas of Mexico. There are other birds that could fit this ID, depending on lighting. Possibly a Blue Bunting, Blue Mockingbird, pr maybe a Little Blue Heron.
