baby birds get adult mites from their parents in the nest
Innate.
Baby birds do not smell, probably not if you had to handle it. Birds fight to survive, many are tossed out of the nest by siblings or adult males.
After foraging for food the adults return to the nest and regurgitate the collected food for the young to eat it from their mouths. Not appetizing for a human but it beats starvation.

baby birds do :)
Baby birds mostly fledge or leave the nest in mid/late Summer.
You can remove your love birds nest when the baby birds have moved away from the nest and have learned to fly. Make sure you use gloves to avoid touching bacteria that may have accumulated on the nest.
They're called birds.
Baby canaries may vanish from their nest due to predation, as adult birds can be vulnerable to predators like cats or larger birds. Additionally, if the nest becomes too crowded or if the parents feel threatened, they might remove or abandon some chicks. Environmental factors, such as disturbances or changes in temperature, can also lead to nest abandonment. Lastly, sometimes the chicks may fall out of the nest during their early attempts to fledge.
