There are 327 California Condors known to be living, about half of them in captivity as part of breeding/release programs. The Andean Condor, the only other New World member of the family, is believed to number about 1500 individuals, mostly in the Bolivian Andes.

Yes. Several years ago the California condor went extinct in the wild, but as a result of efforts by conservationists there are now about 200 in the wild.
