I wouldn't necessarily say that they attack humans however, when a woodpecker is in a state in which it is being disturbed and, or it's attention is being drawn from what it's doing (pecking) then it might think of you as a target of which it may start to peck along with the tree.
The biggest threat we present to woodpeckers is loss of habitat, destruction of their habitat.
Woodpeckers attack trees that are infested by insects...that is what they are after. So trees that are less likely to suffer insect infestation are MORE likely to be left undamaged by woodpeckers. I don't know of any tree totally impervious to insects.
Tasmanian devils do not attack humans.
The alligator will attack humans, but not on a regular basis.
No but you can attack them
no but they do attack humans
Humans are a major factor. I am not an expert, but I can help a little bit. Humans cut down trees that woodpeckers nest in and feed from. Destroying habitats, polluting skies, and killing prey contribute to the demise of the woodpecker.
no most sharks do not attack humans unless they do something to provoke them

Yes, they do attack humans, but swimming humans are often mistaken by a great white shark for a seal.
Sea lampreys do not typically attack humans. They are parasitic fish that feed on the blood of other fish, not humans.
