We have had a flock of 15 turkeys in our yard every day for at least three weeks. Today something startled them and they were instantly airborne and cleared pine trees that are about 50 feet high and only about 50 yards from where they took off. They are large birds with a couple males probably weighing 18 pounds or more with 10 inch beards.
They are quite tame and they come right up to me when I go out to spread shelled corn on a cement patio. They have right up on our attached deck and look through our door wall in the family room.
