No, the parents teach their babies to forage and they stay together. Quail live in large groups together and then break apart in family groups to forage. So, there isn't quite the kicking-out-of-the-nest moment like with some birds. For ten years generation after generation of quail have lived in my yard. So, some of the babies never leave.

How do you babysit a real baby?

It will start crying at the leave of its parents, so simply bathe it (if the parents ask you to, always ask questions before they leave) quickly, dress it in its pajamas quickly, dinner quickly and a bottle to bed. The crying will stop because it'll fall asleep.
