Nesting, shared by both sexes although mostly by the female, takes 35 days. After the first crack in the shell it takes another 12 - 48 hours. Plus the eggs hatch in the order that they were laid.

Actually, the parents will let their babies go after they are around 11 to 12 weeks of age. When the time comes, the parents will push the babies out of the nest and they will be on their own from that point on.

Sometimes, even if the eaglets are proficient with flying, they will return to the nest occasionally to receive food from the parents. It may take some time before they permanently leave the nest.
