No bird can lay more than an egg every day (or just a little less than 24 hours). If you mean domestic strains of quail, they seldom go broody so lay almost continuously, like laying chicken breeds. In captivity, the different species of quail will do much the same if they do not have an acceptable nest-site or the eggs are removed as laid. A normal clutch varies with species from just 4 or so, to something like 10-12.
A quail will lay approximately 200 eggs in their lifetime. This can depend on how long they live, however. Some quails will only lay several eggs a year, while some can lay several at a time, multiple times per year.
