Well I have studied herons for my science asssignment and have found on various websites that herons have many enemies also known as predators, which include the fox, bald eagle, racoons and sometimes when they are hungry humans.
There are many different species of Herons. I didn't find any of them listed on the Endangered Species List (US Fish and WildLife Services). Some specific species are listed by individual states as threatened or endangered. As to the general populations of all Herons facing extinction, I can find no evidence to support such a statement. The White-Bellied Heron, and the White-Eared Night Heron, are listed as endangerd, but I found no forecast for their extinction.
There are estimated to be fewer than 200 white tigers left in the world, with most of them living in captivity in zoos and sanctuaries. Due to the rarity of the gene that causes white coloration and associated health issues, white tigers are carefully bred to maintain genetic diversity and health in their populations.
