It depends on the exact species of the canary. Some are worth more than others.

An average canary costs about £15 to £30, depending on where you buy it from. Beware of canaries that are too cheap, as these may have been captured from the wild instead of bred in captivity. Those captured from the wild are untamed, unhygienic and have a shorter lifespan due to the depression of being in captivity. If you believe a canary has been captured rather than bred in captivity, please report it to your authority.

"Champion" canaries will obviously cost more than ordinary canaries, usually around £50 to £200, again depending on the exact species.
"Fancy" canaries, are priced depending on how "pretty" they are. A colourful fancy canary can cost around £45 to £80.

Compatible breeding pairs are also sold for a little bit more, usually around £40 to £60. But they can cost up to £300 if the breeding pair are champions (see above).
Some species are rarer than others or are harder to breed than others, so these will naturally cost more too.

On average, a professional pet store will sell a typical canary for about £25 to £30 each. A street pet shop may sell them for about £15 to £30 but there are less guarantees.
A professional breeder can charge you a little bit more because the canaries may be "champion", "fancy", breeding pairs and because they are usually already tamed and semi-trained.
