A blue parakeet, also known as a budgerigar, typically consumes about 1 to 2 teaspoons of seeds or pellets daily. Over the course of a year, this amounts to approximately 365 to 730 teaspoons, or about 10 to 20 pounds of food. Their diet may also include fresh fruits and vegetables, which can slightly increase their overall food intake.
I am sad to say NO, they do not get along with children under the age of 14. One day when a friend of mine had a blue parakeet and her 11 year old was saying hello, the parakeet bit her and tries to peck her eye. Do not get a blue parakeet unless you have a child 14 or older!!!!!
Parakeets will usually breed once or twice in a season depending on rainfall, food availability and water availability.
You must wait one year from the day it hatched

Approximately as much food as they would need on Earth in a year.
A parakeet's lifespan varies by species. Some parakeets live to the age of 7 to 15, or rarely 20 years. This would correspond to 5 to 7 human years to a parakeet year, except that parakeets are adults by the age of 1 year, which is quite different from humans but comparable to other birds, mammals, and similar animals.

Yes old and young parakeets can get along. They can also be territorial so it is important to introduce them to each other gradually so they aren't threatened.
