I purchased my red bellied parrot about 15 years ago, the cost was 600.00. He was a baby and was purchased in Stamford Ct. He is a lovely bird, very independant, talks a great deal and picks up on noises and sounds fairly easy, However, this breed can be nippy but great for aparment living as the sound level is minimal compared to other parrots. I have noticed with my male that he does suffer from "night fright" therefore a light must be left on all night long as he will get anxious and might hurt himself as he panics in the darkness. They are suprisingly healhty and entertains themselves so if you are not able to devot a great deal of time (if you work) they can nap all day.
No. To date, there are no recorded examples of an Australian cockatiel and an African lovebird breeding successfully.

A baby African lovebird is commonly referred to as a "chick" or "nestling." They are born in the nest and typically rely on their parents for care and feeding until they are old enough to fledge and become independent. As they grow, they begin to develop their distinct colors and characteristics.
