A 20 gauge shotgun is enough for duck hunting if your blind and decoys are close together and you are a good shot. Around here most use a 12 gauge. The decoys are farther away from the blinds in these swamps and a 12 gauge maintains its pattern over a greater distance.

that would be ok for very close range. but not ideal, 12 gauge is what i use. its most hunters #1 and most recommended choice. plus for personal preference i would use a higher shot for pheasant, especially if the dogs you are with are flushing pheasant from far away. and if that is the case than think about using a choke. if you are thinking about do waterfowl than i would defiantly use a 12 or even 10 gauge. but again to answer your question i would highly suggest you get a 12 gauge for more effective hunting. again 12 gauges are fun to use and once you use a 12 gauge i gaurentee you will fall in love with your 12 gauge, and never go back to your 20.

i hope that answered your question, and i hope this helps too.

Are Baikal 20 gauge shotguns good for trap shooting?

yes it is good for a beginner i just purchased the Remington spartan 20 gauge shot gun for some light trap shooting and pheasant hunting this is the perfect gun and cant be beat for the price. If you are going to shoot thousands of rounds a year you should probably spend more money and get a better trap gun but for occasional use this gun will be great

Where do you shoot the deer with a 12 gauge?

In my opinion, a lung shot will be the most reliable, whether you are hunting with buckshot or slugs. While this link is to a bow hunting site, it has a good illustration of the location of a deer's heart and lungs. Good hunting-http:/bowsitezperiodzcom/bowsite/features/articles/deer/heartorlungs

Is the 410 a good rabbit gun?

Yes. The 410 does not do as much damage to a rabbit as as 20 guage or a 12 gauge. A 410 is good because it does not take a lot to kill a rabbit, and they are usually shorter in length then the other guns. Rabbit hunting is often done in thick brush and a shorter barrell is easier to control. Plus it puts more of a challange in the hunt. Hunting should be a challenge, otherwise it would be boring. I personally use a 20 gauge with light loads for rabbit. As soon as I can I'm going to get a 410 for rabbit hunting though. It should be a blast. Happy hunting and remember, be safe.
