Emu chicks are not "born": they ae hatched.

Emu chicks have shaggy feathers like their parents, but instead of being brown-black in colour, they are sandy-cream in colour, with brown stripes. They lack the blue neck patch of the parents. This striped appearance is for camouflage in the grasslands and open bushlands where emus primarily live.
