It really has no meaning except the bird made a bad mistake.
Not all things that happen have an omen or meaning, if the kind of bird is a significance to you personally, there MAY be a message in this. However it is more likely explained below.
At certain times of the day, light will refract on a window in such a manner as to reflect the sky and sometimes the trees outside, bird can be mislead by this image and thinking they are flying into the trees will instead hit a window. To reduce the chances of this happening again, see if you can obtain a Hawk silhouette to put on the widow, make sure it is made of a non reflective material and is on the outside of the window. This should stop future birds from making the same mistake.
Well if the bird was a pet, the dignified thing to do is bury the bird. If your children were emotionally attached to the bird a little memorial service for the bird will bring closure to the kids.
It is a bad omen
It's reached the end of its life.
that got sick or shot.
It means that it reached the end of his life
It has an ID number on it that identifies the breeder and probably the clutch the bird came from.
It could mean that the bird that is plucking the other one wants to be in charge. depending on the bird you have. a fischer's lovebird is very territorial and can kill another bird if it doesn't keep it's distance. the first bird wants to assert his dominance and instill fear in the other bird.

It might have just been a stupid bird or it might have short sight or it might have seen its reflection and thought it was another bird it all depends on what type of bird it was.
