Osprey is at the top of its food chain. But on the food web, there must be something that eat the osprey, like falcons. And sometimes bald eagles, sea birds will harass the osprey giving up the meal they catch (or to die in a chase). Even though accidents they make, like being too greedy and catches a fish too large that it can't afford to carry it and is drowned by the fish, or crossing a motorway carelessly and has a car accident, or having bad luck on its migration route, or being a target of a person's gun, etc can be lethal. HAWKS! Baby osprey also get eaten by seagulls (yeah, and you thought they were so cute, eating those French fries).
An osprey eats mainly fish.
An Osprey is a bird that only eats fish. It is a symbol of abundance.
No one, they are the top of the food chain.
They don't have a symbiotic relationship ! Whilst the osprey would certainly eat the sparrow - they're not the ONLY food the osprey eats. The sparrow gets nothing from the osprey at all.
It is very unlikely that an Osprey would kill and eat a cat. The Osprey only eats fish, so only has the talons and beak that are effective at killing and eating fish instead of larger mammals.
The plural form of osprey is ospreys.
The Latin word for osprey is "Pandion." This term is derived from the genus name "Pandion," which encompasses the osprey species. The scientific name for the common osprey is "Pandion haliaetus."
Pandion haliaetus should be the scientific name for the osprey.
well the osprey doesn't really have a role. osprey: type of bird founded in the Chesapeake bay
The osprey just snatched up a fish! That's the biggest osprey I've ever seen.
