Hummer's as I call them.......they like to eat small insects, like gnats, they will even take a catch from a spider web. They usually feed the most at dusk. You might have one or two in the early morining. Sometimes i have as many as 5 or 6 in the evening, mostly males tho. That's when I saw a part of web on the males peak. The sugar water is their way of getting a drink of water and give them the needed energy they need to stay in flight all the time.
