I received a two-day old peacock from a petting zoo. Not knowing anything I tried everything from chick feed to store-bought starter feed. He turned his beak up at everything, and then Lucky the Peacock let me know I was way off base by latching onto a baby cricket one day and wolfing it down. From then on, I fed him rotten plums, meal worms. dried out eggs shells (for calcium), crickets (about 20 a day), lettuce, dandelions, gravel (for digestion) clover and ramen noodles. It is important to let them have some sunshine every day...it helps with their legs. They like to be close and cuddle with you if you walk around the yard. They will attack your dog and cat, no matter the size ratio, which is quite funny, but be protective of your peacock...they think they are bigger than they are.
