Some collectors keep this bird in their collections. What happens is some may escape and breed, as happened in North Carolina a few years back.
I have seen as many as 25 together at Logo Mar Country club in Plantation .

Arctic geese winter in Britain because the weather is much more mild than Antarctica. Canadian geese winter in Florida for the same reason.

After Amy Alden's 16 geese returned on their own, they were able to reunite with her and the rest of the flock. Alden had initially lost them during a migration attempt, but the geese showed remarkable navigation skills. Their return demonstrated their strong homing instincts and bond with their caretaker.
