There could also be a large puddle on the roof, and of course, fox and coyote cannot get up there to kill her...she may be taking up residence up there. It's definately safer than a pond. But don't take my answer to be the absolute truth. Go up there ASAP and make sure she is not injured. If she is, call your nearest wildlife rehabilitator.
